Seeing merchandising from new angles

The traditional way to display frames – stainless steel rods and bars – can feel dated. It’s not the visually stimulating experience customers want. We always encourage our clients to be more creative with merchandising and frame displays – to explore different fixtures and fittings, lighting, colours and materials to help customers distinguish different brands and styles.

Proudly independent, Glimpse Opticians asked us to translate their values – bespoke care for every pair of eyes – into their store. Our design included floating display units, bright yellow metalworks and illuminated shelving. Set against the exposed brick walls, this striking juxtaposition elevated their unique range of eyewear. A bespoke design for a bespoke business.

Helping opticians think like retailers

Providing expert clinical eye care to patients is just a part of what keeps customers coming back to your practice. Patients are consumers too. They expect the same kind of tailored customer experience they’ve come to expect from, say, a fashion retailer. 

Relocating to a new unit, Karen Lockyer Optometrists wanted to redefine their retail experience and create a boutique feel. We encouraged them to think like a retailer and applied our experience to the layout, lighting and furniture as well as creating bespoke displays for their extensive range of frames. The result: a visually striking aesthetic and a space strategically designed to increase sales.

Designing effective dispensing spaces

A well-designed dispensing space is the heart of your patient experience. 

We know that dispensing is more than selling frames – it’s where opticians can focus on each patient’s needs and build trust. 

For Norville Opticians, we transformed an unused corridor space into a dedicated dispensing zone with individual stations. As well as making better use of the space overall, this has transformed their approach to dispensing and improved their patient experience – having room to focus on individual needs means increased sales and more repeat business.
